Problem: Calcium was leaching from the balconies and stairs on this property for some years. Stalactites dripped beneath the slab at the entry to the garage, thick shell like calcium carbonate built up on the vertical surfaces and came up along the grout joints. Regular cleaning was necessary. Damage to vehicles in garage was imminent. Some tiles had become drummy and were cracked by minimal traffic.
Planter boxes were also leaking due to a failed membrane. We do not recommend the use of thermoplastic and liquid membranes on planter boxes, particularly if it is undesirable to dig all of the plants and dirt out of the planter box to install a new membrane. NJ Samson recommends only using high quality EPDM on planter boxes. |

Work in Progress: NJ Samson processes and materials was used to water proof the tiled areas. Broken tiles were replaced, and a few need to be reset, and the desired result was being achieved without the expense of demolition and tile replacement. The planter box was waterproofed with Prelasti EPDM, and supplied with a 20 year warranty.
